Occupational Therapy Services

We apply a one-on-one approach in helping individuals to facilitate independence and wellness in their life.

Occupational Therapists (OT) work with individuals of all ages who are impaired by illness, injury, or developmental disability.  Through therapeutic exercises and activities, OT's help clients adapt to their social and physical environment.

OT's also address fine motor coordination difficulties, sensory processing difficulties, developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, other physical impairments, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and developmental delays.  OT's also address hand and upper extremity injuries.

Some of the specific areas include the following:

Occupational Therapy
Development for individuals whose lives have been disrupted by physical injury or illness, problems in development, the aging process, and/or social or emotional problems.

Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills involve manipulating objects with your hands and fingers.

Sensory Integration
Sensory integration involves our brain's ability to take information from all of our senses including touch, sound and movement; and then to organize that information effectively.

Activities of Daily Living
Activities of daily living include all self care skills such as dressing, feeding, grooming, and hygiene.

Visual Perceptual Motor Skills
Visual perception is the brain's ability to understand sensory input to determine size, shape, distance, and forms of objects.  Visual perceptual motor skills are the body's ability to take in, organize, and effectively act on that information.
